I mean of equal worth...and can we judge? If a fish has thousands of eggs in the presumption that only a few wil survive does that make each fish's life of lesser value than that of the baby elephant who gestates for ages and is nurtured by it's parent for years? There are so many sides to the question I would love to know what people think...
I saw an ad on TV recently for some kind of anti-bacterial product and it took someone who believed that all life was equal as its premise. So here's this guy saving cute mice, worms, flies, wasps, really trying not to harm any living thing. Then he sneezes into the anti-bacterial handkerchief (or whatever the product was) and suddenly realises he has killed bacteria. I think he's a bit upset at first then he kind of thinks, 'oh well...'.
OK so it's just a crass advert but I guess for me it shows that life is always coming into conflict. I liked watching The Blue Planet but did find it a bit devastating the way everything was killing everything else. Humans try to create a protective world where they don't have to live like that... civilsation or whatever... but we don't really succeed, do we?

In humanity...no.
